Becoming a New User
Why Register? By becoming a registered user of the forums, you gain the ability to post in the Watcher's Diary and the Fanfic Forum, as well as the ability to highly customize your settings in the forums (see Setting Your Preferences), and exchange Private Messages with other members. Also, when you're registered and logged in, the system is able to track which posts you've read, thereby telling you how many new messages are in each forum, marking new threads with an orange icon, and marking threads with new replies with a 'New' flag. If you'll be spending any significant amount of time in the forums, your experience will be much better if you're a registered user. Back to TopTo register, click on the "New User" link in the forum menu at the top of any forum page. On the New User screen you must enter your desired username and your email address.
Once you have submitted your registration information you will be sent an email containing a password to use when logging in. This password can be changed via your User Profile settings once you have logged in. (It's recommended that you change your password to something you can remember.) The email will also contain some useful information and links. Back to TopThe email containing your password will usually arrive within a few minutes, sometimes longer. If it does not arrive within a day, then there is probably a problem with your email address. If this is the case, please send an email to and we will check on your registration. It's important that you let us know what username you registered, about what time you registered, and what your correct email address is. Without this information we will be unable to help you. Back to TopWe do not allow multiple usernames to be registered for any one person. If you make a mistake the first time you register (type your name wrong, use the wrong email address, change your mind about your name, etc.), do not register again please simply explain the problem by sending an email to and we will correct the situation. If, down the road, you'd like to change your username, please make your request in the Profile Request Forum. Someone will then change it for you as soon as possible. You will then be unable to login with your old name. Before you can login with your new username, you'll need to delete the cookies for the forums. Simply go here and follow the directions presented there. You'll then be able to login with your new name and your old password. Back to TopNext Back to Contents |
