Viewing Forum Information
From each forum's Post List, you can click on the Forum Information link (on the upper left, underneath the forum title) to display information about the board.
From top to bottom the items of information are:
The board's name.
The description of the board (the same description that appears in the Main Index).
When the board was created.
Who the board's moderators are. Clicking on a moderator's name will show you their User Profile. A moderator can, among other things, edit other people's posts. In the Fanfic Forum, moderators approve posts.
Whether or not Post Approval is on. If this is on (meaning that the board is moderated), then each post has to be approved by a moderator before it appears in the post list (only the Fanfic Forum and the Profile Request Forum are moderated). If this is off, then messages appear as soon as they are posted.
The total number of posts currently in the forum.
When the last post was made.
Whether or not HTML is allowed in messages. HTML is not allowed in any board.
Whether or not markup code is allowed in messages. Markup is allowed in all boards.
What rights you have in the board (for example, "You may read and post messages in this forum"). This is determined by whether or not you are registered and logged in, and varies with each board. All boards can be read by anyone; you must be registered and logged in to post messages in the Watcher's Diary, the Fanfic forum, the WD Parties forum, the Profile Request forum, and the Testing forum; anyone can post in the Help forum.
When posts expire. Due to their popularity, these boards take up a lot of space and create a lot of load on the server. Therefore, we have to "expire" posts after a certain amount of time - expiring a post simply means to delete it from the database. The expiration time varies with each forum.
