How to Get a Custom Title

You may notice that a title appears under everyone's names with their posts, and also appears in their profiles. There are three basic titles: People posting anonymously have the title Unregistered. Registered users with 0 to 4 posts have the title Stranger. Registered users with 5 posts or more have the title Member.

Users with five or more posts can also request a custom title, as opposed to simply "Member." Such a title should be unique — you can't have one that's already taken — and short. You might want to look at the types of titles that other members have chosen if you need some inspiration. You don't have to choose one, but if you would like one, please make your request in the Profile Request Forum (see below for further details before making your request).

• Titles may be a maximum of 30 characters, including spaces, with no exceptions.

• No titles in all CAPITAL LETTERS. We also reserve the right to restrict non-alphanumeric characters (i.e. *, !, @, etc.).

• Don't go nuts requesting a new title at every turn. At the very least, wait until your last title request is no longer in the forum (3 weeks) before you request a change.

• The admin and moderators reserve the right to refuse any request as we see fit. Common reasons might be: Inappropriate title, title already in use, requesting too many changes to title, etc.

When you've decided on a title that's within the rules, go to the Profile Request Forum to make your request. It should look something like this:

• Be sure to specify exactly how you want your title to appear - be aware of capitalization and punctuation. We will put exactly what you request (i.e. willys bartender, Willys Bartender, or Willy's Bartender) and we'll be annoyed if you say, "Oh, that's not what I meant."

• The Profile Request Forum is moderated to keep it on topic, so until a moderator or admin approves it, it will only be visible to yourself and the mods/admin. Once it's approved, that generally indicates that your request has been dealt with. Please reply to confirm that it was done correctly.

• Please consistently use this forum for your title requests — do NOT PM or email the moderators/administrator with these requests.
